if there was one thing that i think i've excelled at in photography in 2008 i'd say it was long exposure shots. twelve months ago i didn't even know half of what i know today about taking shots, my first long exposure was an accident while i was taking pointless shots in the subway.
when i look back at 2008 i think my little hobby of photography has completely changed, i don't consider myself a photographer because i don't usually get photos i like but every once in a while. i do consider it as serious as most photographers.
long exposures have become my most favorite shots, i absolutely dread flash because i don't have the money or time to invest in lighting and other flashes and i think the pop-up flashes are way too brutal on most people and things. but long exposure creates a sort of artificial light and makes night shots awesome. whenever i stand somewhere for 5-30 seconds i think of it as an abstract movie, gathering all of the movement around it but still leaving your imagination as to what happens.
in 2009 i will also invest more into photography and try to improve my skill with long exposure.
i hope to all who read this you too will also further invest in your interest and hobbies in 09'
